Two or three days challenge.
Mt. Dajiah is No.18 Peak of “Taiwan One Hundred Peaks”, which is 3,594m in altitude. Mt. Jiah is No.64 Peak of “Taiwan One Hundred Peaks”, which is 3,253m in altitude. The length of the trail is approximate 24.3km.
Mt. Dajiah is third top peak under Mt. Snow system, it named as the top is like a sword-shape. This is one of medium tough mountain, as the trail is in long distance but also you need to hike up to 1700m from the start. We suggest to take two days and camp there.
Three days trip:
First day takes around 11 hours (16k) hike to Yubolaw campsite. Second day takes 10 hours (7.5k) to Jiayangshan and Mt. Jiah then to the campsite. Third day takes 3.5 hours (2.2k) to Mt. Dijiah and then all the way back to trailhead. Total would be 4,400m elevation gain hiking.
Two days trip:
First day takes around 20 hours (23k) hike to Jiayangshan and Mt. Jiah then to the campsite. Second day takes 3.5 hours (2.2k) to Mt. Dijiah and then all the way back to trailhead. This is very challenging in time.
