Two or three days challenge.
AXi Vertical Traverse runs east-west over the Alishan Mountain Range, between the Chayi Alishan and Nantou SunLinkSea mountains. The trail is 1,715~2,557m in altitude and the length of the trail is approximate 27.2km.

AXi Vertical Traverse was one of famous trial in 50s~60s. After 921 earthquake, certain parts of the railroad were broken, it was fade out from our mind. As more and more adventurous bloggers bring up this trail, it is very hot for young hikers lately. You should take three days to relax in this fairlyland.

Three days trip:
First day takes around 4~5 hours (10k) hike and camp in ShiHou Station. Second day takes 6~8 hours (23k) to ShuiYang Forest and camp there. Last day take another 5 hours (9.2k) hike to SunLinkSea. Total would be 1,319m elevation gain hiking.
