從烏來福山到巴陵拉拉山，整個路徑貫穿插天山自然保留區，沿線有許多紅檜巨木，也是野生動物生活的重要棲地環境，物種豐富多樣；古道為早年泰雅族狩獵、通婚、訪親的社路，日治時期設隘勇線、作為山地警備道路，至今仍留有駐在所的遺跡。
本路線走的是從巴陵出發往福山端，高度漸降，多為下坡路段，因此距離雖長，行走起來比較不吃力，由專業嚮導的帶領，享受森林原始環境帶來的感動。

Baling to Fushan: Hiking Through the Heart of the Central Mountains
Spanning from Lalashan (Baling) in Taoyuan to Fushan in Wulai, this breathtaking route cuts straight through the Chatianshan Nature Reserve (插天山自然保留區) — one of Taiwan’s richest and most pristine forest ecosystems.
This ancient path isn’t just a trail — it’s a living corridor of culture, ecology, and history. Once used by the Atayal people for hunting, marriage visits, and inter-village travel, the route was later transformed into a Japanese-era military police road, with old outpost ruins still visible today.
