玉里山是坐鎮玉里地區的一等三角點山頭。這裡有著東部中級山特有的榛莽密林，甚至擁有比日本屋久島更像魔法森林的杜鵑林，因山基龐大、稜脈廣袤，地勢上要比許多花東的中級山要緩和，而使得這條路線相較於其他東部中級山變得較為可親。

Mt. Yuli
Yuli Mountain is a prominent peak overlooking the Yuli area, featuring a first-class triangulation station. It is home to the dense, tangled forests characteristic of intermediate mountains in eastern Taiwan, and even boasts a rhododendron forest that feels more like a magical woodland than Japan’s Yakushima. Thanks to its massive base and expansive ridges, the terrain here is much gentler than many other intermediate mountains in the Hualien and Taitung regions, making this route relatively approachable compared to its eastern counterparts.
